We're Official!

PEX is official! Articles of Organization have been filed with the Secretary of State, Business License has been applied for and our bank account has been opened!!

We are officially Cooperative People's Exchange LCA. PEX is a Limited Cooperative Association organized under Chapter 23.100 RCW. What does this mean?!? It means we are cooperatively owned and founded by the community. We established with nine community members that continued meeting after our initial HiLos closing conversations last fall. Those nine people are now founding Member Stewards of our new community space, People's Exchange located at 639 N Callow Ave. Stewards take part in logistics for events, managing the care of the space and building relationships with the greater community. We'll democratically elect a Board of Directors to spearhead governance of the organization as we finish up the process of creating Bylaws. We're excited to see what PEX grows into! We are officially by the community, for the community!
